Bruce Edward Moyer '58 died October 24, 2007 at age 71 after a long battle with emphysema. He was born May 30, 1936 in Cressona, Pa to Fred and Ethel (Emerich) Moyer.

Bruce Edward Moyer '58 died October 24, 2007 at age 71 after a long battle with emphysema. He was born May 30, 1936 in Cressona, Pa to Fred and Ethel (Emerich) Moyer.
Bruce grew up in Shamokin. PA as one of two sons of Ethel and Fred Moyer. (His brother Vernon passed away last year.) His remains will rest in peace in the grave next to his parents in Schuylkill Memorial Cemetery.
Bruce graduated from Shamokin High School in 1954. He was initiated in the Chi Phi Fraternity at Penn State University in 1956 and graduated from Penn State in 1958 with a BS in Industrial Engineering.
After college he served his country as a commissioned officer in the US Air Force stationed in Japan. Following the service, Bruce worked for IBM from1963 through the 1990’s in the San Francisco Bay area and bought a home in Los Gatos, California
Bruce retired from IBM where he worked in finance and planning and was a Senior Financial Program Administrator. He also provided support on financial issues to attorneys defending IBM on anti-trust litigation and had assignments in division headquarters on industrial and manufacturing engineering on hardware products.
Bruce liked bicycling, cameras, and taking walks around Lake Vasona in Los Gatos.
Within the past year he established a scholarship at Penn State in his name to support students in need.
A memorial service was held for Bruce on November 14, 2007 followed by a reception at one of his favorite hangouts, Carry Nations in Los Gatos.
