It's time to step up, gentlemen! We all took a holiday weekend to enjoy

It's time to step up, gentlemen! We all took a holiday weekend to enjoy
cookouts and fireworks, but we need to get back on track to raise the
last $360,231 needed to meet our overall goal by July 31, 2011.

Last week, we recorded another
NEW PLEDGE!   Wilson Cramer, '54 joins us for the very first time at the ***Order of the Brotherhood*** level.  Thank you, Wilson!  I had a nice conversation with Wilson this afternoon. He is cautiously optimistic about our success and likes where we are heading with alumni involvement, a house mother or father and running a limited or non-alcohol fraternity.  By making his commitment, Wilson joins the other 306 of us who want to assure that other young men have the same opportunity to create lifelong bonds that we all have enjoyed.

Andy Schultz, '60 recently sent the following note to me that I thought was worth sharing with everyone.  Please join Andy in telling others why you joined the campaign.  It just might be what other brothers "sitting on the fence" need to hear at this critical time.

Dear Brothers,

I attended the 146th Chi Phi Congressional Banquet in Orlando last Saturday night and came away impressed with the calibre of Chi Phi actives from chapters around the country and the leadership staff running the Fraternity. And I thought it would be a real shame if we couldn't restart the Alpha Delta Chapter at Penn State. It's such an excellent experience, said the actives attending Congress, and I remember it well as the highlight of my college life. My best friends are Chi Phis and I still get together with many of them at least once a year. I can't imagine that experience disappearing from Penn State for good.  I also can't imagine another fraternity living in our House there when we just need a few more dollars to bring the Chi Phi spirit back to Penn State.   If you haven't pledged to the fund yet, please do it now as we must make a decision on selling or reviving by July 31.  Think what it meant to you and join us now.

Fraternally,

Andy Schultz '60

Written Campaign Pledges To Date: $1,324,769.00

Total alumni who have pledged: 307 out of 964

Percentage of alumni who have pledged: 32%

Percentage to goal: 79%

$360,231 needed to meet our overall goal by July 31, 2011

ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE A COMMITMENT TO RE-ENGINEER CHI PHI, ALPHA DELTA!

Brothers continue to hear our calling at this critical time.  We are officially at 307 brothers actively involved in our campaign thanks to our latest pledge commitment!  This is the level of response we need in order to meet our goal, gentleman.

We are now down to one month to get to $1.685MM. Every bit counts, guys. It will take major commitments and small commitments alike to get us over the top.  Here are a couple of scenarios that clearly mark what we need to accomplish over the next 31 days:

Scenario 1

1- $150,000+ pledge commitment

1- $50,000+ pledge commitments

1- $25,000+ pledge commitments

1- $15,000+ pledge commitments

3- $10,000+ pledge commitments

10- $5,000+ pledge commitments

9- $3,000+ pledge commitments

13- $1,000+ pledge commitments

Total= $360,000 from 39 more commitments at an average pledge of $9230

Scenario 2

1- $100,000+ pledge commitment

1- $50,000+ pledge commitments

1- $25,000+ pledge commitments

1- $15,000+ pledge commitments

3- $10,000+ pledge commitments

10- $5,000+ pledge commitments

19- $3,000+ pledge commitments

33- $1,000+ pledge commitments

Total= $360,000 from 69 more commitments at an average pledge of $5217

Where will you join us???  Either scenario gets us to where we need to be and a variety of other scenarios will work as well.  A dream come true would be another 150 brothers involved at an average of $2500. That's the kind of volume participation we envisioned from the start of this campaign.  It would put us over 450 brothers actively involved in our campaign--almost 50% of our brotherhood making the statement that they still want to be a part of the new era for Chi Phi, Alpha Delta--the mark of a strong organization.

As I mentioned before, this campaign has been about sacrifices--sacrificing time, energy, money and plans for other things. 307 of our brothers have stepped up and said our fraternity and our brotherhood are worth these sacrifices. Who will be the next to join us?  Will it be you?  We need to move quickly on our progress, gentleman. Don't wait.  Every day that goes by pushes us toward a higher daily goal. We need on average of about $12,000 each day to make our goal by July 31.  It's truly possible. During the height of our push to get us over $1MM we averaged over $12,000 each day for over 10 consecutive days.

I will continue to report each day on our progress.  This truly is our last chance, guys.  We have the opportunity to see this through.  Don't let our last chance to pull this off slip through our hands.

No luxuries remain. It's up to you.

Ready to make a pledge or increase your previous pledge?  Here is what to do:

1. Download and complete the pledge form

2. Scan and and e-mail it to rpm163@psu.edu

3. We will report your pledge immediately so we can share the good news with everyone

Not sure of our plan?  Read the recent letter from Finance Committee Chair, Dave Brockway '77, below.  You should have received it in the mail as well.  It includes our immediate plan of action and how you, an alumnus of Chi Phi, Alpha Delta, can get re-engaged if you have not been actively involved or for those that have, what you can now do to help.

These are the most critical weeks of our modern existence.  It's now or never.  We have the plan.  We have the ability.  We now need you--every one of you.  It's now up to the 960+ members of this organization to see this through. We need your help. Don't stand on the sidelines until it is too late.  Your urgent response is needed.

BELIEVE.
