Some great news! A new era is about to begin for our chapter. On August 28 we signed the construction agreement with Veronisi Building and Remodeling (VBR). Through the course of the past several months we worked with VBR and other construction companies to really understand the needs at the house and the optimal restoration process. Ultimately VBR was selected for its experience with projects like this, its high quality work product, and an overall proposal that met our financial needs. VBR has worked on several other fraternity restoration projects at Penn State and is considered a premier construction company in the Centre County area. As you can imagine, we are very excited to work with VBR. Work is expected to commence in mid-September and be completed in June 2013. In our original construction budget, we had estimated approximately $1.75 million for restoring the house and furnishing it. Through the tremendous work of Mike Krone ('90) and Ken Jacobson ('66), we now believe all the costs necessary to restore and furnish the house will come in 10-15% below that estimate. This is great news and allows us to begin the restoration and recolonization fully confident in our financial situation.
