It was one of those special weekends in State College. Graduating seniors lined up at the Nittany Lion statue for a memorable photo. Restaurants announced waits of over an hour. And hardly a vacancy could be found at a State College hotel. Yet, 15 of our 23 active brothers from the 1964 graduating year (1962 pledge year) chose to return to Happy Valley and to the Chi Phi house during the weekend of May 10-11 to celebrate their 50-year graduation anniversary and years of remarkable camaraderie that was easy to witness by spouses who attended and fellow weekend golfers.
Organized by Brothers Ken Jacobsen ’64 and Ron Carpenter ’64, the Class of 1964 Reunion included a tour of the newly renovated Chi Phi house, a golf outing and a dinner including several spouses. Thank you to all who participated, illustrating that part of the power of our brotherhood is in our commitment to participate and stay connected in the years following graduation. Our bond does not stop with a diploma. It is for life.
